Dude, it's not MS fault. The freakin' MPAA is setting the rules. If MS wants to be able to play high res HD movies released by the studios on their OS, they have to play by the MPAA's rules. You want to put the blame on someone, put the blame SOLEY on the MPAA! The Linux community ain't gonna be able to play HDCP content on their OSes either unless they develop a hack. And you know what they say, "necessity is the mother of innovation." I believe the hack will come REALLY quick as the Linux guys I'm sure would LOVE to watch HD content at full resolution.
