I am currently running a vista based htpc upconverting dvds to 1080p to my sony display (A2020). My graphics card is set to 1920x1080.
On several occasions I have not been able to play a standard dvd. I get an error message telling me there is a problem with and that my dvd may be in use by another device. Shut down all other programs and if that dosn't work, reduce the resolution on the graphics card.
I would not suspect hdcp except for the last part. So far, re-booting has solved the problem, but its very annoying.
I know hdcp should not be an issue with a 480p dvd, but I also know that there are issues. Have I run into hdcp stupity??
