Hi,

I am running on a Diamond HD4850 single card and windows 7 7077 build x64. Also using cat 9.4 drivers. I did not turn on ati overdrive since installing windows 7, so up until this, the card was always at default clocks: 625/993.

Yesterday, I slapped on an accelero S1. I overclocked the card to 675/1020. I ran ATI tool's artifact finder to maximize the gpu load. Full load temp was 50 C after 20 mins, so its definitely not overheating.

No artifacts were found, then I stopped it and closed ATI tool's 3d view. Right as the card switched from 3d clock speed to 2d clock speed, which is 500/750, the screen became scrambled. It was 3 shades of orange alternating as blocky lines down the screen. I am also running on dual monitor, both showed the same thing. Required restart to get out of it. My pci-express is locked in at 100mhz as well.

I might vaguely recall something happening like this when I first used ati overdrive in XP a while ago. But I am pretty sure i had it switching from between 3d and 2d clocks normally without any problems like this since then.

Is there a bug I should know about? i will have to do more tests when I get back home later. Thanks.
