Get an 8400GS. Why do you have to spend so much for a non gaming PC?

Way overkill. My Dell E1505 lappie w/generic video will drive a 24" at 1900 x1200 rock solid.

Try this $16 AR + S&H.

My system is going to have intel graphics accel 3100 on the mobo, but i wasnt sure it could run the 24". I cant find any 3650 256MB here in canada i wish we could buy from newegg. the cheapest 3650 is a 512MB and its $60, so for les than another 20 bux id rather have a 3850 512. The 8400gs 512 is $30 and that seems like a good price. but if the 3100 on mobo will do the trick i dont really care to spend any more money.

Edit: actualy there is a game i play, but it isnt usually listed as a game like crysis or anything like that. Sims 2. would going with a good videocard help that game?

Not really, what exact motherboard model are you going to buy? AFAIK the new g43 chipsets have pretty decent onboard video, and I bet it can run sims 2.

Going with a good videocard for sims 2 is pure overkill. Like people said before me, a cheapo HD3450 would do the trick, or a cheap 8400gs or a 9500gt. Don't spend more then $30-40...

I'm sure your 3100 will run 1900 x 1200. The 3100 is one generation newer than the 950 I have in my lappie.

As for the mobo its a dell so its going to be a Foxconn G33M03 so itll have a G33 + ICH9. I just found out that newegg canada will be opening soon and im gonna celebrate with a bottle of champaign. Its about time! One of the main reasons is places like shoprbc. theyr prices on the 8800gt for example are about 40% higher than ncix or direct canada, and about 50% higher than newegg even when you factre in the exchange rate. Best price here for a 9500gt is $60 but for the 8400gs 512 there are some around $40. If you had to choose between a HD3650 256 and a 8400GS 512, for about the same $ what would you chose? the 3650 comes out twice as fast on Big Video Table Any credebility to that table?

I like the fact Newegg is coming to Canada because there are parts like y-splitters that are difficult as heck to find. It's just a huge relief.
