I found the AMD GPU overclock tool very useful for this purpose, but it will not save the clocks I set when I restart. How could I preserve my settings upon restart? Or do I need to wait for the new ATITool to support Vista x64?

Try RivaTuner. Much better than the GPU tool.

does rivatuner function properly under Vista x64? ATITool will not work because X64 needs a signed driver (and I do not want to press F8 each time I startup).

I'm personally using 32-bit Vista, but according to Guru3D download page, RivaTuner v2.03 supports Vista x64

I heard that the developer of ATITool aquired the signature from MS but needed time to impliment it. I'll try rivatuner and see what happens. Thanks for the heads up.

edit: blah here's the quote from rivatuner's page "Vista x64 (disabled driver signature checking required)."

So I have to press F8 every time I startup or it won't function... I need x64 functionality (4GB+ memory), but hate this driver signature crap. Wish I could just turn it off like I did UAC.

Apparently someone used their signature and signed the drivers for the RivaTuner crew. So you can use the file linked about 1/2 way down the page to update the installer with the signed version of the driver. (post #16)
