i disagree... his site is being hammered.... heh. or you just happen to be closer to wherever it's hosted... and lucky.

*edit* eh, ok, so long as you get to the actual link which takes a while, speeds are very good.. ~240kb/s here :) at least, 33% of the way through so far...

Hey guys, I help run the website with djgogls. He told me he made this thread so I thought I would pop in and answer some of the questions.

pray4mojo - All of the videos that are on there right now are from one show - the weekly car show at Crystal Cove in Newport Beach, CA. It happens every Saturday morning, barring the odd rainy day. It's really an amazing experience to see that many high-end cars in one place.

mrSHeiK124 - Thank you for the compliment - the Enzo video is my favorite at the moment. Looks amazing in silver!

KuJaX - You shouldn't need any special codec to play this - we currently have it running in Windows Media Player. We are working on maybe trying to bring it (or at least a version of it) to a more Mac friendly version, but we haven't seen too much demand for that yet.

mrman - I am very sorry that you weren't able to play the clips. I am just checking that you actually clicked "Save As" and downloaded them to your hard drive first, yes? They are way too big to be able to be streamed. If it was just a computer problem, again, sorry you couldn't play it. We DO have a lower quality version on the site that is smaller - almost anyone should be able to play that version.

supafly - Thanks for letting us know how they played, appreciate it.

James3shin - No problem, glad you enjoyed the vids. That Noble is an awesome car - outperforms most of the Ferraris!

JasonSix78 - Thanks for letting us know how it played. Would you mind sharing the specs?

Phil - I don't know what the Purevideo decoder is. It seems like your computer SHOULD be able to play all the videos. Just checking, but you are playing them in WMP, yes? Is it possible to try them without the Purevideo decoder? If all that fails, I am very sorry you can't play them - like I mentioned to someone else, we do have a low quality version on the site that almost anyone can play.

thomsbrain - Thanks for letting us know that they played smoothly. And yes, we're having fun with this camera! :)

Trikat - I am happy the vids played for you. No need to upgrade after all! ;)

johngute - That's amazing that your laptop was able to play it smoothly - awesome!

randomlinh - The speeds are typically very good on this server. However, between 1-2:30 PM today PST (3/19), the site got hammered big time and went down. Everything is back up and running now. If it gets hammered enough to go down again, I hope you guys will try again later. The problem is not the BW on this server - its a 2.4 celeron hosting package. :( Perhaps an upgrade will be in order...

Anyway, thank you for the continued comments. To the couple of comments that sounded hostile about the OC people and their cars, sorry you did not appreciate the videos - we're just a couple of car enthusiasts happily learning to play with the HD camera, and thought that people on here would appreciate the HD vids.

Thanks guys, this is by far the best forum for people giving us feedback about how the videos are working.

The videos should work perfect with windows media player I have only tried version 10.

If anyone new checks out the videos let us know how it plays on your systems.

Thanks again everyone.

AMD 64 3200+ OC'd to 2.5GHZ | ASUS A8N5X | 2x512MB Cheapo RAM | eVga 6800GS CO SE (slight OC)

Awesome vids and the d/l speeds are nice, I was getting 160-170 kb/s which is the max for my 1.5 Mbit DSL. Thanks again for posting those!

So is the 1.4 centrino cpu the slowest one that has successfully played the HD Video?

Has anyone with slower speeds tried?

i finally got around to playing it... very nice quality... wish I had that camcorder and a reason to film. 2400/2500XP + 1GB of ram. not that it helps in determining slowest computer to successfully play.

The Carrera GT is the best looking car I have ever seen. And the best sounding also. Thanks for the vids man.

randomlinh - Thanks for the specs. The camera is a lot of fun, but be forwarned: it takes a lot of computer to edit that footage! Djgogls (OP) had to build a dual-Opteron system with a couple of TB to even begin to edit it.

MBrown - you are very welcome for the vids. I'm glad you enjoyed them, and I will say the Carrera GT might be my favorite car of all time - insane exhaust note!

Hey just a suggestion. Get rid of that border around the picture at the top of your site. It makes it look pretty bad.

very good quality videos, and 10 minutes away from where I live (Laguna Hills:) ) I think the Server is getting bogged down though, I seem to only be getting around 60-70k, which causes the video to stop and buffer up every 5 seconds or so.
