Hi all, this has been driving me up the wall all day today.I'm trying to Ghost a ATA HD to a new SATA HD for a new system build.I'm running ATA and my mobo supports SATA.But as soon as I plug in and try to format the SATA my system ''boggs'' down.It will show up in my device manager and in computer management/disk management. But it will not let me format it.I do not have Raid enabled in bios.I'm totaly lost.😕

Mobo:Asus K8N-E
CPU:AMD Sempron 3000+

Are you ghosting the same system with an ATA hard drive to an SATA hard drive, or a different system with an ATA hard drive to a new system with an SATA hard drive?

Thanks Kaido,I trying to Ghost the same system master drive.I just want to make a copy of my master drive''which is ATA'' and move it to the new SATA drive.

Possibly the SATA drive installation contains SATA drivers, which your ATA clone does not. I can't recall if I've ever cloned an ATA drive to an SATA drive before; what version of Ghost are you using?

Yes what you will want to do is make sure you have the SATA drivers loaded on that ATA disk. Then it should be no problem ghosting the ATA to SATA.
I have done it with just xcopy.
