hd radeon 6870 overclocking?

With Battlefield 3 on the way I need to get every bit of power out of my already outdated 6870. Could someone point me in the right direction of overclocking this card? I know it comes factory overclocked but I would love to push it just a bit more.

I have one too and I think it performed admirably in the Beta. I'm gonna keep an eye on this thread since I'm also interested in possibly overclocking it.

I'm not so sure it's "outdated".

Can't you just push it with CCC?

get a second 6870 for CF and you will blaze through BF3

you can try to overclock to 900Mhz above,some cards like gigabyte 6870 OC default is 915Mhz🙂

Its pretty easy with AMD hardware, just make sure to have the latest drivers installed, enable AMD overdrive and go from there.

To test the stability of your overclock, disable power throttling with GPU-Z (if you don't, the card will detect non gaming programs and will throttle down...you don't want this) and run furmark.
