I have 2x512 pc3200 corsair valueram running on my pc. Would adding a 256 mb stick of pc133 ram do anything for my pc? I think it would be next to useless, but just wanted to get some conformation.

new question
ok, i dont wanna start a new topic for no reason, but i have another question.

So as you can tell i'm gutting up a pc and using its parts in various places. I wanted to put the HD from this PC into my school computer. I can physically install it, but what do I do after that to clear all the stuff off the hard drive? Is there some special way to delete windows, like a program or something?

you can't add pc133 to a system with pc3200. it won't work. you could try if you wanted to.

actually pc3200 ram is DDR.....and pc133...is well regular ram.

Also a stick of 133 will not fit in a mobo that has just DDR ram.

Also some mobos have both....and no you cannot intermingle rams like that!!

The easiest thing to do is reformat it.

In XP you just right click, select "format" and then follow the very simple steps. Quick format should be enough.

I would highly not recommend you adding PC133 ram, it would change all of your ram to those speeds, that's if it fits.

Install the old hdd into the system and make sure it is jumpered right and detected in bios. After you boot, go to My Computer and click on the said hdd. Right click and choose format. When it's done, your done and the hdd is ready to use for storage.
