HD or XP problem?

I open my computer
says 7.7gb free 66.8gb used on C:

Open C:
three folders (hidden files are shown)
1) Documents and Settings = 13.4 GB
2) Program Files = 1.66 GB
3) Windows = 1.92GB
When I add 1+2+3 I get 16.98 GB used NOT the 66.8 windows is telling me.

What to do?

If you're just looking in the side bar in my computer...it displays the Free space and then the total space on that drive. If you want to see how much space is used, you must right click on the drive and click properties. Make sure that you're actually looking at the right thing

I've made this mistake before

Right it says
used space 66.8GB
free space 7.69GB

but I know I dont have that much data! I just (like two days ago) switched over from a 15GB drive!!
