HD not detecting or is it?

Hey guys,

I bought a 120 IDE hd off here for my dell dimension 2400. its a bit old but afaik doesnt have HD limitations.

Anyways, when i go into the bios it shows my prim HD as unknown device. I have it set to master on the HD.

Also im able to boot with tinyxp's cd and install to the HD, but whenever i boot without the cd i get primary drive 0 not found , basically forcing me to go to the bios or reboot.

Now every once in a blue moon itll work and boot, but if i resstart then im sol
 
Check you haven't got jumpers set up wrong - ie, cable select might bring up problems between two IDE devices on the same cable.
