HD in Dynamic Mode?

Okay, here's the deal: I have a maxtor hard drive on my computer, 60gb, that just recently went into dynamic mode without my permission... I am running XP and if I go into Computer Managment>Disk Management, it says that the hard drive is in dynamic mode, and it is disabled. When I right click on the drive below and tell it to reactivate it, it gives me an error that says: The Operation did not complete, check the system event log for more information on the error. I have tried multiple things: switching ide chains, unplugging other devices, changing slave/master, putting the drive in a whole other computer, and I get the same danged thing. The drive is dynamic and offline. So I also tried maxtors boot up disk tool on their website, and did all the checks on the drive, and it is fine there. So does anyone have any ideas??????
Thanks a bunch, I need this drive, it has all my divx/mp3/music vids!!!

maybe try the diskpart utility 'online' command?

Ok, I have got the drive back without formating (It no longer dynamic unusable, it is dynamic active) so what Ideas do you have on retrieving my data?
