I did a seach, but didn't come up with anything. If this has already been posted, could you please direct me to the proper place. Thanks.

I have a 40 gig (7200 rpm) Maxtor HD that I bought from FS. I'm running it along side a 4 gig and a 17 gig drive. I use the 4 gig as my primary OS drive.

I was running Windows XP for a while, but had to re-format (long story) and I'm installing Win2k. No real problems with that, but now it only recognizes 31.4 of the 40 gigs on the drive... I've tried to re-format, and even ran the Maxtor utility, all to no avail. It still only sees 31.4

Can anyone think of any way to fix this problem???

W2K will only format up to 32GB using FAT32.

Either go NTFS or boot off a Win98 bootdisk and partition/format from there. W2K will recognize the full size then.

damn! are you serious?? ive been reformatting my computer for the past 2 and a h alf hours and i did a whole 80 gb on one partition T_T,,,

Another slight problem??? nothing has seemed to work...

For some reason the Bios is only recognizing 33 gigs... is it possible the drive is bad???
