I have a 56" Mitsubishi 1080i HDTV, I was wondering if I get an HD DVD Player, will the DVD's be upscaled to HD?

There are DVD players that can upconvert to 720 or 1080. They're generally better with fixed pixel displays that have 720 or 1080 as a native resolution. You may see less benefit on a CRT based TV.
It's not really going to be true HD since the source you're starting with is only 720x480.

I'd like to get one just to try and see how it looks.
