1. One of the big two tanking under a pile of lawsuits after it is discovered that their cards are susceptible to violent and spontaneous combustion after six months of use.

2. Corporate-espionage-wars, where ATi and nVidia both employ attractive corporate hooker-spies to extract secrets from rival card engineers by sleeping with them. Or trained monkeys that can break into the development offices of rival companies and swipe prototype cards.

3. Matrox coming back with the Parhelia X3950GTX Ultra, a low-profile, passively-cooled card that has the capacity to power 16 30" LCD monitors simultaneously.

4. Instead of designing video cards, product engineers at both ATi and nVidia design a 12-foot tall battle robot. They fight in an arena and the creator of the winner gets exclusive worldwide distributing rights for video cards until the next generation.

Just be warned that these aren't official benchmarks, anything can happen tomorrow... ;)

So tmrw's the day right? Not that May 15th crap.

Well, the NDA's being lifted tomorrow, so we'll know how the cards perform.

Unfortunately, it still looks like the launch will be later, probably the 15th.

I'm not complaining though, because it might give me enough time to sell my card if this turns out to wildly outperform it (especially in DX10)

What, disappointed that your god card "underperformed?"

I would be to... ;)

Just because I don't approve of DT journalism tactics doesn't mean that I'm blind to price/performance ratio. I ONLY buy parts that perform the best for the money. I can proudly say that I won't be buying any R600 cards in the near future. I may, though, buy one once they release the refresh, just like what happened with the x1800xt. You cannot argue that, for the money, when the price dropped that anything performed better for the money. I'm not a fanboy, I just buy whatever is going to last me the longest. I'm too ****** poor to be brand biased.

Now, I'm mad at DT for pretending to be some kind of authority on benchmarking when they don't even use the same test system for comparative results. The XTX is they used is months old and they don't have the final drivers. They also blatantly broke a NDA (this are Anandtech's people mind you) which I hope there will be severe repercussions for doing so. It just pisses me off because it completely ruins anandtech's credibility on reviews and make fanboy tards freak out that either:

A: ATI/AMD fanboy's card isn't performing like they want it to

B: nVidia fanboy's competition is crashing and burning so they want make themselves feel like they didn't waste their money on a potentially premature DX10 card

Either way, I think everyone just needs to SHUT THE FVCK UP and wait for benches when the card is out. UNTIL then, speculation does not make your e-peen bigger, so stop talking about it....

Dailytech is its own site, apart from Anandtech so no, there will be no repercussions from Anandtech.

On top of that, Dailytech does not sign NDA's.

Maybe you should think twice before telling others to "SHUT THE FVCK UP."

Why would AMD issue cards to DT if they won't sign a NDA?

If DT doesn't sign NDA's as you proclaim, then who did they kill to get the cards they have... Actually, I did think more than once about telling people like yourself to "SHUT THE FVCK UP." Some of the ignorance displayed here deserves to be attacked physically...

Calm down sparky. Those questions are left for Kris to explain and that's what separates him from the rest of us.

A lot of the ignorance displayed here is just speculation by people. If you don't like it then just stay out the of thread. Personally, I think DT's benchmarks are wrong, but that's just speculation on my part. I'm not ready to tell them to go to hell or get all bent out of shape like you have.

I'd love to take you up on that offer. Some how no one on an internet forum scares me one bit.

But let me guess, you're like teh omg 6'4" 250lbs, solid muscle and you've got like 6 tear drops, one for every kill.

STFU.

Not even the Inq is spinning the 2900 as anything glorious. If they knew it would be awesome I gaurantee you'd be seeing headlines there about how crooks are becoming honest citizens in respect of DAAMIT and how Global Warming is getting less intense all of a sudden... could it be related to ATI's new card? oh my, look at the time, i gotta go before I put any truth into this article, whew. Or something.

This thread is amazing. We're talking about graphics cards by the way.

Don't let me stop your tirade though.

Agreed. Add to that, I'd like to urge everyone to quote only the relevant part of the arguments when quoting someone else's posts. This doesn't mean to quote someone's text out of the context, but making the whole thread more legible and being more considerate to others by reducing irrelevant part of posts. I believe my fellow AT'ers are intelligent and mature enough to reduce the amount of quoting text, without breaking the context.

You have to understand that video cards for some have reached a level of holiness where they are compelled to send out the word of AMDism or Nvidianity.

No one shall use its name in vain. Or they'll tell you to STFU and physically attack you.

Nevermind the fact that this user came in here, gave his opinion, then conveniently told everyone else to STFU. Nevermind the fact that he uses "e-peen" as a means to convey other's actions, then ironically threatens people over the internet. And nevermind that he came into a thread with guns blazing and didn't have his facts straight. If it means physically attacking people (over the internet? ) to get them to stop speculating, so be it! It will help them reach the late 3DFX in heaven.

But didn't you display ignorance just as well? ;)

DailyTech does not sign NDAs, it's been mentioned on their site many times. They aren't part of Anandtech; Anandtech used to have its own news until I believe Anand asked Kris if he wanted to do his own thing or something like that.

I find this thread kind of funny though... it's amusing how riled up people can get over a hunk of refined sand with some non-precious metals in it. I'll throw some pennies on a beach and you guys can go fight over it, 'k? ;)

While I so want to go into the banning of Rollo comment, this thread needs no further ridiculousness.

Yea, and also, for some reason, people tend to fight over green pieces of paper with eagles drawn onto the back. What loooosers.

I donno, TN, this seems more amusing because you can stereotypically see a bunch of nerds in their basement freaking out over reading a post disgracing their "love". I mean picture it... some ATi fan reads this thread and gasps in a girly manner that makes you think he hasn't hit puberty yet... he bites his bottom lip and looks over to his right at a huge ATi poster featuring Ruby. He gently strokes the poster, "It's okay, baby... I won't let them bad mouth you anymore."

I'd laugh.

I will have to remember "AMDism or Nvidianity" because that is a good one! lol ;)
