very nice

for those with those asrock agp+pci-e boards it would be nice to double up for crossfire just for being unique and as proof of concept.

Through amazon.com for cheaper shipping.
$29.99 + $3.29shipping

Reading the manual it sounds like only the PCIe version supports HDMI outputs.

if TD charges sales tax in your state, try ordering it through Circuit City instead. Same company, same Bing cash back, but no sales tax (since they closed all the B&M stores). :)

I wouldn't say they are terrible. Its a problem with Win7 compatibility.

As far as XP and Vista. The hotfix solution works for most people. Heck a lot of people dont even use the Hotfix solution to get the cards to work.

This is a great deal. I used my $25 off from Tigerdirect that they were giving out just before Xmas if you met certain criteria. It came in an email today.

Perfect timing. $13 videocard shipped.

I gave my two a whirl and both are just fine one under win xp and the other on win7.

For my older htpc that does light gaming when I want to LAN it is just fine. For my poor brother who only plays wow and mostly valve titles he is more than satisfied as this fares much better than the 9600xt he was previously using.

Good use. These are solid for a light gaming rig. Source games should run good on medium to possibly high settings. I don't play WoW, so idk about that.

I looked up some charts and reviews and the 6800gt is almost twice as fast as this HD2600pro.

so you gain dx10, but lose and bout half the speed off a 6800gt.

I have a ASUS 6800GT SE with 2 molex plugs, that is held together with super Glue, but hey it still works, and good on my old XP3200+ system.

I paid $25.00 for 6800gt used, about a year ago.

I sold my BFG 6800GT from my backup system a little over a year ago for $50 and have regretted it ever since. If I were to buy a newAGP card I think it would be a 4650.

I got one to replace the 6600GT in my HTPC rig. It's got a Athlon64 3500+ @ 2.4Ghz and has a hard time with anything over 720P. I'm hoping I'll be able to run 1080p h.264 without issues.

thats because you are compareing a DX10 card to a DX9 card with DX10 benchmarks.

the 6800gt can't even run or render most of those tests.

like i said this HD 2600 pro is about half the speed of a stock 6800 GT.

specs for both show you why, the hd 2600 pro has about half the pipes and a little over half the ram bandwidth of the 6800GT.

So wrong.

What are you kidding? Every bench from the above link was DX9. The 2600 pro is in my estimate is about 50% faster than a 6800gt. It's 2.5 generations after it. You just can't compare a vector to a stream GPU. The vector is meant to extract parallelism at lower frequencies, while a steam is meant to run faster at the cost of some of that parallelism.

I'm guessing these are better than the radeon 9800 pro? :D That's what I'd be replacing.

Also i found out the HD 2600 pro comes in many different speeds, this could also be why i some show better than a 6800gt.

for the every chart I found that showed the 2600 was faster i found several that showed the 6800gt was faster.

http://www.tomshardware.com/charts/gaming-graphics-charts-q1-2008/Battlefield-2142,548.html

Well this charts shows the 2600Pro edging out the 6800gt. Hard to tell since the cards tested had DDR3. This card has DDR2 but the memory is at 1600mhz which is 200mhz faster than the cards tested.

To me it doesn't matter as the 2600pro should be better all around with power consumption and DX features for starters. It's worth the money imho.

As far as the 9800pro. Its way better than this card but you'll need a decent CPU to push it. I don't think an Athlon Socket A CPU on an Nforce chipset at lets say 2000mhz will push better cards much faster. You might not get many more FPS but you will get more features. So if you like to tweak. $30+ isnt a bad option.
