HD: $0.99 DreamCast Controllers @ Circuit City B&M

Controllers were in a discount bin right in the middle of the playstation/xbox section of the store.

Were initially marked $14.99, then $7.99 which was good enough for me, so I grabbed (2).

At the register, they rang up as $0.99/each!

Got mine @ the Natick, MA store. Hope you can find some @ a Circuit City near you.

Long live retro-gaming. 🙂

Dreamcast rox! I don't need any more controllers now, but you never know ... might as well for .99. Thanks for the heads up.

Thanks for the post. I missed the ebgames offering early this year for $3.99 at b&m locations.

Now if I can try to remember to stop by CC and then remember why I went there after getting there ;^) ... Way too many areas to get sidetracked in.

That's kinda funny. I was just at the same store. I guess you must have bought them out, because there were no controllers left when I was there last night. There was a copy of PSO for DC, marked $10, and a Space Channel 5 for $8, and a pile of football games, which I didn't care about. They also had a couple of "Gameshark Lite" discs marked $3.99. Maybe they would have rung up cheaper, I would have bought one for $1.

Btw, did you also notice, that they still had three of those Sony PSOne LCD screens on a shelf, marked down to $70? I wonder if those might ring up cheaper too, hmm...

preusing previous cc clr deals, i would say that's the price everywhere
"Some stores haven't had these in stock in years, literally."
months here, i think, but they might have them in the back somewhere, who knows?
i usually don't ask, but is there an available sku for these? if they are the interact see-through model, i have it already... but if they are oem dreamcast official, i don't
it would be on the receipt?
thanks in advance and also for posting!

I need to find Vanishing Point, WS Baseball 2k2, and NHL 2k2... the only games I have found 'new' were at Toys R Us, and they had pso and baseball 2k2. off topic: does anyone else get non stop servo use when playing world series baseball 2k2, or was that because i was using a "backup" copy?

It has 🙁, but don't let that stop you from single player goodness 😀. I already have 4 controllers, but who oh why are they a buck each....argh. Who'se me...

I know that, that's why I didn't pick it up. I also already have SC5, picked it up last x-mas at Sears, when they had tons of DC games on clearance for $5. I could really use another DC console though, I got one from a friend, but it skipped on original games, so I sold it off, and need another (better-condition) one. Should probably pick through the used systems at EBX sometime.

Was thinking though, aren't there "hacked" servers that fans put up that people can log on to?

The ones I bought this time:

I have Shenmue 2 and that game kicks serious booty. I wish I had a chance to play the first one first though.

This place here indicates the European version is still up. I've never tried it, and i'm too lazy to hack on it... so I'll leave it to others. (Not that i'd recommend getting the game... i just wanted to point interested people in some direction.)

There's also VERY GOOD INFO on setting up a Quake 3 server for DC... which is STILL IN STOCK at amazon!

If you're thinking about getting a DC, make sure it has a manufacture date "pre 10/2000"... you'll thank me later.

If you are a geek and just got your DC, and don't know what to do with it, check these out
www.dcemulation.com
www.consolevision.com
www.dreamcast-scene.com

If you are a super-geek, you might look on IRC... efnet... search for "dreamcast", "dc" or "sega"... I saw a linux port floating around, among other things.

The dreamcast is still twiching with life... with recent releases like "ikaruga" and "borderdown" and "feet of fury"
I've read about a few others coming down the road, too... some are mentioned in the web-sites mentioned above.

Also, if there is any geek in you what-so-ever, i'd grab a keyboard and mouse (or a DC to PS/2 adapter) before they are gone forever.

Yeah ttown it's amazing. The console that won't die! These games aren't really "new" but they were scrapped games Sega and third parties were going to release, but obviously scrapped them once the console was dropped. I didn't believe this, but they actually were going to release Half-Life on it! It's downloadable at a few places. Border Down and Ikaruga are badass too!

I didn't get that at all...

Edit: EB sells used DC systems for $20 flat.

He's referring to that fact that consoles pre october 2000 can play your backed up copies of games so, uh your original discs won't get ruined since they are no longer in production.

kind of 🙂 most of my friends are djs/musicians, and i love the saturn/dreamcast screensavers (psx burn-in booo!!!)

Thanks for the info an DC links.

Saturn? My nephew has this with several games. Wouldn't play of DC would they?
