I'm really looking forward to checking out the first episode which airs tonight (01/12/14). I dig the dark atmosphere I've seen so far from the commercials and the official website (link below).

Anyone else here looking forward to the show? Feel free to post your thoughts and opinions on the show here!

Just scheduled it to TiVo. Matthew MCConaughey and Woody Harrelson in a TV series. What's not to like?

I liked it, I think it will be a good show.

Same here! I recorded the show as I was not home when it aired and I ended up watching it twice! Great first episode so far. Really dark storyline and atmosphere, and I think Harrelson and McConaughey have great chemistry. It's crazy how different their characters are in this show.

Did anyone else's recording cut out at the end? Seems like it over ran it's timeslot by a small margin and it cut out right while Matthew's character was saying something....I'll download to be sure I didn't miss anything important.

I watched it live...didn't run over it's timeslot (at least not in my cable area/market). The episode did end a little abruptly...Cohle (Matthew McConaughey) said "You better start asking the right F'n questions", and it ended.

I really liked this premeire. It was slow moving, but had a very dark feel to it. Can't wait to see where they go with it.

Then it was perfectly timed, because that's exactly where my recording ended.

I think I'll wait until the season is over, order HBO for one month, and binge watch it. Saves me 1-2 months of $18 fees.

I need something new and TOP NOTCH to replace Breaking Bad, fingers crossed.

This seems relevant as the mystery becomes cursory, with leads and suspects popping up in arbitrary, nondramatic fashion, and the series reveals itself as a languid character study and a vehicle for long-winded exchanges about religion and responsibility that are writerly in the worst way.

I think this means I'm going to love it despite any "auteur excesses," but that Action Jackson freaks are going to be disappointed.

Good! There are plenty of other shows and movies where stuff blows up every few minutes. Give me some actual character development I can only find in the best novels! And hopefully, by writerly, they mean written by professional writers and not an entire season with the premise of "Carl left the house again!"

Yep. I'm in. DVR set to record series. Hopefully this will help me get through to GoT in April.

I wonder how bad the 2nd half of this Walking Dead season will look if I watch them back to back on Sunday nights?

I will be hoping for the same thing. I had never watched GoT until this december, and me and my wife went through all three seasons in a couple weeks. Now I can't wait for that to be on.

Definitely one I'm going to check out. I just have to finish last season of Dexter, then this or homeland.....or both.

This was so good. Best premiere of any show I can recall. I can't wait for more episodes.

Just for clarification...we know that they arrested or caught SOMEONE for the killing, right? It was implied when the new detectives brought up that maybe they got the wrong person, I thought.
