HBO renews THE WIRE, with the fourth season set to air in 2006. "THE WIRE just keeps getting better, so we're delighted that David Simon and his team will be returning for another provocative season," said Carolyn Strauss, president, HBO Entertainment. "We share the critics' enthusiasm for this unique and challenging series, and eagerly await the new episodes."

this is great news for Wire fans, as it was on the bubble...

Every season ends in a way that makes you think the entire series is over, but every year they find a way to bring the show back to life better than ever.

Now they need to do the same for Carnivale. I like the wire, by Carnivales is the best thing HBO has done n a while, including the Sopranos.

I liked the atmosphere of Carnivale and the set design, but season 1 absolutely nothing happened! i felt like the writers didn't have a cohesive plan on where to take it. with The Wire, I feel like they know on episode 1 where the characters will end up in Episode 13.

Actually, Carnivale is EXTREMELY well thought out/ laid out.

There are 4 books to the whole series. Each book takes 2 seasons to complete. This season will complete book 1.
The creator has the next 4 seasons already arced out.

Admittedly, season 1 was MUCH slower (but still good), this season is moving much more quickly.

damn thats good news - I really thought that the show'd had it. Now we've just got to wait till 2006 to see it🙁

Carnivale is great this year. It's a great production. Last season was way too slow, and ended up with disconnect puzzle pieces. Now I don't even remember things of the very beginning that would probably help me appreciate better the conclusion of this season.

Carnivale I hope dies this season, its really getting corny, lol. I guess we can still use the word corny 🙂. I am surprised at The Wire, after Avon went back to prison and Stringer Bell got smoked, man I loved that part, I didn't really see much else.

damn i have got to see this show. anyone else watch Homicide (from the same creator, many of the same writers) when it was on network TV? that show was so damn good but lost in ratings against the likes of walker texas ranger. WTF is wrong with the morons who watch network tv?
probably why i don't anymore.
