I like the Pacific for what it is and will continue to watch. Though it is definitely a disappointment. Even the battle scenes are pretty "meh". It's noting but muzzle flashes, and faceless Japanese getting mowed down.

While I agree it's a big disappointment, that's how the war was. Japanese perfected night fighting from all their years of taking over China/pacific islands for years before the war. The Japanese were masters of the night and preferred to attack at night and their tactic was just to throw more and more waves and as we know it didn't work cus they lost the war.

Just dont think this will have the "staying power" as BoB, could watch that over and over and not get tired of it. And am again as they are showing it again here.(i also own the box set) I think Pacific i could watch maybe once more and not care to watch it again.

i hate that its shorter than BoB (time) the episode doesnt start until almost 10min in and then ends 10min b4 the hour is up.
Both start with the credits and the old guys talking...but then BoB got on with it while Pacific has to show us what happened previously..get on with it already we just saw the last episode a week ago, no need to rehash like it was a season opener episode and you have to remind us of what we saw 3months ago in the ender.

plus so far no hot dutch girl like in ..Caretan(i think it was) where Bull gets tank shapnel in his back and hides in the barn. :)
