Haven't watched it yet, but S04E01 was the single fastest torrent download I've ever had in the history of torrenting. That's better than a Nielsen rating, AFAIC.

Jared. Still the best character on this show.

"I've been very adept at taking the shape of whatever shoe is pressed down upon me."

Am I the only one that was left feeling like that episode wasn't that good? It didn't really crack me up like all the other episodes did. I feel really disappointed in it..

It seems like they made it mostly about a fresh restart more then anything else so it probably is the main reason.

There was some decent parts, the flights / the bathroom view / Richard shooing Jared away like a dog was decent also, but hopefully it picks up a bit now.

It had its moments, cant get enough of Russ, he is awesome. The thing with the flight was great.

I don't remember how does the mole man work for Hooli now? Did he work for Endframe before?

I just remember that Barker had wanted to sell "the box" to that company with the mole people before.

Probably absorbed as they scaled out the box implementation, though they never explicitly stated so.

last season in general wasn't very funny, I'm not too eager to start watching this year. It's getting lazy, the "jokes" aren't really jokes. Veep on the other hand, this latest episode was probably the funniest they've done. I laughed hard, multiple times

There was some good stuff in this season 4 premiere.

I liked the bit at the end with the test group. That guy that leads it always makes me giggle a bit, and Gavin's reaction at the end was great.

As much as I enjoy the humor the show gives (the dialog and joke are superb), I feel like a lot of the conflict is incredibly manufactured and easily solved with actual practices used in software development. Like that episode with the kid who destroys all their code. Um, yeah, that is like 20 minutes tops doing some git commands and you're back. And that is 20 minutes IF you have to look up the commands. The latest episode as well. The whole Dinesh being a dick makes zero sense. "Oh, sorry we had a verbal agreement and I'm taking it back Richard!" would just be responded to by "Oh, we had a similar agreement for that algorithm I created that powers your shit. Sorry, gotta license that from me now! $1 billion per user!". The whole TOS thing was silly as well. Emergency patch with a TOS and done. Sure, on Apple's AppStore and maybe Google's store it would take like a week. Every other platform is pretty much instant.

A big problem is a large amount of their users were children and they were advertising off their total users and this would remove a big chunk of it.

Plus patching a tos like that all of a sudden would reveal their mistake and show everyone there was none and open the doors to legal issues for the time they had no such thing in place plus this is a issue for hooli now.

Just because you suddenly toss up a tos of some sorts does not mean you are not liable for what happened previously if it was discovered you were breaking the law like that especially when dealing with minors that a new tos probably does not cover for pre-existing users who had their rights violated.

Here's the problem. They've shown high profile people, even direct competitors, using their service. People who would, especially that shifty security guard, notice no TOS while trying to use PiperChat. And, they lose 20% of their users, if we assume people read that shit and don't just click through because they are 12 and who reads the TOS. They literally threw the baby out with the bathwater. It's manufactured drama to keep the show going, at best.

I don't think their interpretation of COPPA is correct anyway. It forbids collecting the personal information of those users.

What's your name?
Where do you live?
Who is your daddy and what does he do?
Do you like Turbo Man?

My guess is the video file would be the issue here as they stored the videos of the calls on their servers they mentioned and as we saw later with barker.
