Huh? HBO has way more original programming than it ever did in the past. And not substantially more movie reruns. Same for showtime. What are you smoking?

Such as...? With the exception of some crappy boxing matches and one series I can think of HBO has nothing. Showtime has a couple original series (don't care for them personally) and that's about the extent of it. The movies rotate out to the other networks in a pretty predictable cycle.

YMMV ... it's your money.

In the past year or so, HBO has/had:

The Wire
Deadwood
The Sopranos
Rome
John From Cincinnati
Big Love
Curb Your Enthusiasm
Entourage
Flight of the Conchords
Dane Cook's Tourgasm
Extras
Def Poetry Jam
Def Comedy Jam
Real Time With Bill Maher
Real Sports
Inside the NFL
Costas Now
Several HBO films
At least a dozen documentaries (including the much loved Cathouse)
Numerous comedy specials

But the real issue is that you are implying HBO or any other network used to have MORE original programming which is total BS. They've never had this much original stuff.
