HBO Go has awful video quality

HBOGO app has started sucking even more, if that was possible. Amongst other things like the usual freeze, unable to load video, there is now this stupid authentication required message coming up all the time. Even after I went through the procedure - which shouldn't have to in the first place - it still does not work.
 
I never thought it looked particularly good or bad...it's not broadcast quality, sure, but it's certainly still enjoyable. I've also used some not-so-legal streaming sites and they can be really inconsistent.
 
I use HBOGO on the main rig and actually get a better picture than the cable box myself, though I don't use it in here that often.

Even in the bedroom HTPC it's higher res than the box.
