How long did M*A*S*H run? The stories told in Deadwood are only very loosely based on a few characters of the day. The rest is fiction. It's the characters that made the show.

True, but it seemed like a story that had an ending planned (and passage of time) before the plug got pulled. I guess I wouldn't have like it to go much longer, so maybe that's my bias. I'll take a movie to wrap it up considering how it did end.

How do you even remember something like that after 10 years? I mean I do remember one or two characters like Ian McShane. But that was mainly because he always had such great dialog and I had remembered him from the UK serial Lovejoy.

Because I recently watched it when it came out on Amazon, not when it came out on HBO.

Sex & the City did quite well in theaters.

I am not sure a Deadwood movie is going to be a blockbuster for them. I will love it though.
