Haze Delayed Again

Publisher Ubisoft has once again pushed back the release date of Free Radical's drug-enhanced shooter Haze. The company now expects the title to arrive at some point during its 2008 fiscal year, which runs from April 1, 2008 to March 31, 2009.

Is this game EVER going to be released?

Wow, that'll make it 2 years worth of delays. I imagine that if they were still shooting for a simultaneous PS3/360/PC release that we'd be looking at 3. 😛

I didn't care at all about Haze until BioShock. Then the whole "shooter with a good story based on morality" became more appealing. I figure it's either going to be excellent or downright terrible. I still have a bit of hope for it, but it looks like I won't have to give it another look for a while now.

EDIT: I had to rewrite most of my post since I misread the OP. I thought they were AIMING for March 09. That's apparently just the latest they think it could come out...

Killzone 2 is probably going to be a huge letdown as well. It's gonna end up like crysis.. few copies sold and 90% rentals.

Just another thought - Doesn't it seem odd that they're now shooting for March 2009 instead of the Christmas season? I'm always glad there are some new games that come out early in the year, but you'd think that since it's so far out that they would still at least TRY to get it out during the lucrative October/November/December quarter. Just what the heck is wrong with this game that it needs an additional 14 months?

They're probably still shooting for the 2008 holidays. They've just given themselves a huuuuuuuuge window in which to deliver it after missing out on the last two promised release dates.

Well, I'm still rather interested in the game. EGM had it in their "Too late or too little" section...they said the game overall is pretty good, but it needed polish. I did notice the game seemed to look rather solid, I know they're a capable company, and the storyline looks above average...but it just didn't WOW me. So, I welcome this delay, as I believe it will give them time to create a truly great game.
