My friend just told me about this game and i saw some videos.. looks potentially pretty good.
i think i'll wait till it's officially released though before checking it out. kind of reminded me of a transformers game.

Been in beta for ages.
even FTP this one will be a pass for me.
held my interest less than 2 days.
interface is a mess and the shooter part is just meh.
 
Just tried a couple of rounds. This game is fun. I've never been able to get into mech games because the movement and game play just felt too clunky and slow to me (I know I know, that's kinda how it's supposed to be), but Hawken is a bit more smooth and fast. I really like the multi level design of maps, makes for some fun vertical play. I'm not ready to spend any money on it, but I am enjoying it so far.

I kinda wish it had a single player campaign or some kind of coop vs AI mode.
 
I played for a bit and liked it. It didn't feel as clunky as some mech games, but it still felt like a mech game (if that makes sense). I do dislike that there is only 1 starter mech available. However, it looks like some of the mechs are free to play for some time. I wonder if this rotates similar to heroes in LoL. While I am not ready to spend money on this game just yet, I do look forward to it making it out of beta.
 
Did any of you ever play MechAssault on XBox? I enjoyed that. I mean, yes it was super dumbed down but I dug it. My first mech game was Mechwarrior 2 when I was 15.
