Don't use traps at all, my cat does a plenty good job. He's caught like 4, 2 rats and 2 mice. Unfortunately most of the rats/mice are in the attic so when they die, they leave this horrible smell that smells/tastes like the popcorn jelly beans and ass. I had this for a couple of months but I haven't noticed it since. The times my cat caught the mice/rats is when the sliding door to the heater is slightly open they come out.

I'm in the same boat. I've got the traps and poison out now. I wish I could get a cat to do this the FUN way, but my dog wouldn't stand for it. 🙁

Some rats got into my house during the last rain storms and have been driving the dogs crazy. I'm gonna get the fourlegged, scurvy bastards, though.

I just buttered up a rat trap with some peanutbutter and stuck it behind the clothes dryer, from whence them venture forth. 😀 If this doesn't work there is always poison, but I don't like the smell of decomposing rat bodies in my walls. :Q

One down ? to go!!!

Gee, it's a little guy.

Hey GeekBabe, remember my "How to build a better mousetrap" thread from WAYYY back.
You don't still have that someplace do you? Maybe I could hook HappyPuppy up with "The Plans". 😉

Link?

It's no longer in the archives for some reason. 🙁

Basically what it was was, I left the side cover off of my computer and a mouse crawled in and got stuck in the exhaust fan. The computer started crashing on me and that's when I found the problem. He had JUST gotten stuck the night before and he was still alive. I turned him loose in the back yard...

(He must'a found his way to HappyPuppys place. 😉 )

We always used a live trap. Worked great, just had to drive them out in the country to let them go.

The country doesn't need the little bastards either. Just kill the damn things!! :disgust:
