Having trouble setting up second HD

Ok I currently have a 80gb maxtor as my master drive and was wanting to set my 200gb seagate as my slave drive. Never done this before and having some trouble with it. On the maxtor I need to put the jumper on the middle thing where it says master with slave or something right? I used to have this 200gb in another computer and neither HD had a jumper so I don't have one for my seagate. Is that the problem, do I need to set the jumper on the seagate to slave? Going on about 2 hours of sleep hope this made a little bit of sense.

Primary chain:

Master: Set jumper on Maxor to Master w/ Slave IF it has this setting, if it doesn't then set it to master.
Slave: Set jumper on Seagate to Slave

See pin readouts on diagram on top of the drive.

Thats a good question. I went and copied all the jumper settings on botth drives and here they are

Western digital

Slave
Master with slave present
Single or master

Seagate

Master = on slave = off
Cable select
Limits drive capacity to 32gb

Im thinking he means go in put first drive as primary shut down and then put second drive as a slave using pin from primary. I saw someone do that but i dont know if it works or not.
Looks like your the guinea pig 😉

The seagate didn't show a slave so when I get my jumper which one do I put it on? I guess i'll go a few days without it.

This is what my options were

Master = on slave = off
Cable select
Limits drive capacity to 32gb

Get the model number off the drive and check the manufacturer's site.

Even if it's not on the drive, their website should have the info on which jumper to set for Master/Slave.
