Why do I even bother?
nyeturo989, sorry about not completely answering your questions and sidetracking things, but you should know bettter asking such a question on these boards 🙂

The $35k that I listed was for a '99(which was basically the same as the '98's) review that I saw at edmunds. Link.
From the article:
Here's a link to '98 MSRP's. It show's a sticker of $33,600.
As for the CR-V, Here's a review of a '97 CR-V. Base price is $19,400. Not too far off of my $19,000 that I listed.
I'm not even going to comment on the Passport, as it's just a rebadged Isuzu Rodeo. It's not a Honda in house build, and not representational of the rest of honda's lineup.

From the article:
Build quality was atrocious for a $35,000 vehicle. The pasted-on side cladding on the driver's door was bubbling along the top edge. The front light assemblies, which house brilliant, high-intensity discharge (HID) headlamps, were loose. The Zebrano wood trim covering the center console was securely affixed, but poorly installed, with a large gap on the right side where it met the plastic of the console base. Other inconsistent gaps filled the interior, and the exposed screw heads behind the chromed door handles reeked of cheapness.
