Having trouble making PLay lists for my new MP3 player ?

I copied three folders to my mp3 player and tried to make playlists so I could select them and play the songs in the right folder but it will not work and I can't find out how to do this, any help please !
 
Is this the Digital Audio Player or the Sansa? I have the DAP, and that doesn't have a playlist capability, AFAIK.
