Having trouble linking images, hosted on my NAS/FIOS connection

I took a picture with my digicam, copied it to my public NAS directory, and linked it with (img) tags. Isn't that all I have to do? I had a friend browse the thread, and he couldn't see the image, but when I had him browse to my site, he could view the image directly. So it's accessable on the internet alright.

Is there some sort of size limit, to inline images?

Yes, the URL includes a port number. Does that mean that it won't work?

Does the server retrieve the image file or something? Or does the HTML spit out by the server just re-direct the client to the image link?

If the server processes the image first, then possibly non-port-80 ports might be firewalled off, I suppose. Darn.

That won't work.
You have to be able to view the image on the internet.

Do either of these work now?

Stupid windows was hiding the file extensions (stupid, stupid default), and it turned out that the original filename and extension (as recorded by the camera) was all in uppercase, so when I changed the IMG_XXX filename to motherboards, it retained the .JPG extension. I changed it on the NAS to .jpg, maybe it will work now.

Edit: I am viewing this thread from a friend's connection on comcast, and the (IMG) is working.
