So I've tried it both ways - first by clicking on the Adobe PDF icon, and then by going to print then choosing Acrobat Distiller.
The error message that I get is "The document failed to print." and the error in the printer status says "Error - Printing"

Can anyone help me fix this? I'm just trying to convert my Word resume to PDF...

I think in the print window/menu, you should choose Acrobat PDFWriter instead of Acrobat Distiller.

If you're really stuck, you might want to try installing and using Jaws PDF Creator, which also installs as a printer and creates fully PDF 1.3 compliant documents. It's not free but can be downloaded for evaluation purposes - documents will include a watermark on them.

Hmm.. well, I can convert my Pagemaker files to PDF with no problem, and I know that it uses the Distiller as well...
But it still can't convert the Word files...

I had this problem the other day, make sure AcroTray.exe is running in your tasklist. Once that is running, it should work fine.

In word look for the adobe icon on the toolbar.. press that and it should create it.. otherwise add teh button in.

Ortherwise under file menu there should be something that says create PDF.
