Having those 'man I'm old' moments...

Don't you hate it when it happens? You're sitting there and something dawns on you and makes you realize: 'Man I'm old!' Of course it takes different stuff for different people but I think anyone over 30 can relate to this one... People born in 1990 will be legally getting sloshed at your local bar this year.

Yeah I know I'm a month late on this but I think older people will understand. Time is different now and a passing month is just another time to the next 'event'... whatever the hell that may be. A little vacation, football season, out of town friends visiting that has been planned for months so no one has an excuse to back out (yet still sometimes come up with one), etc. etc.

And writing this crap is just another one of those 'man I'm old' moments. Get off my lawn.

(and yeah old(er) timers I know you're out there, ready to pounce. Just remember, a new decade of 21 year olds has begun and therefore a newer 'old' generation gets to share your pain)

I'm only 29 and I know what you mean.

It hit me when i was in cancun 2 weeks ago, and it was a planned trip to take with my little brother who turned 18 last october (he can legally drink in cancun).

It just hit me that damn he is already 18 and I can remember when he was born kind of like it was yesterday. I still have vivid images of when we sat around the dinner table picking out a name for him.

it really hit me over the head when I realized that the kids graduating highschool were born the year I graduated highschool.

having kids makes you realize even more how much times flies. the girl is already in 2nd grade and i remember when she was potty training like it was just yesterday. the younger one will start kindergarten in september and i remember when she was still breast-feeding.

where did the time go?

my oldest is 17 and she just got a job at arbys. im haveing a huge battle emotionally right now because it wont be too much longer when my little girl will no longer live at home.

My cousin was born in 1990 and I've already hit the bar with him a few times (legal age is 19 here). I remember summer vacations with my extended family when he was just a wee little tyke and we would all hang out at the beach.

Also, a guy I knew from high school just set up the Facebook group for our 10 year reunion.

I turn 28 next month. Holy eff...where does time go indeed?

uh, you aren't even close to being old.

I just hit 40, and am starting a lot of my stories with "I remember when..."

1990 seems like a few years ago. IT WAS 21 FREAKIN' YEARS AGO!!! WTF????

Before you know it, I'll be chasing kids off my lawn 🙁

I kinda got that feeling when I went from going to lots of weddings just a couple year ago to a few weddings and a few funerals lately. 🙁

37 here. I felt old after a recent physical. Found out I have partial hearing loss and high cholesterol. Too many raves and club nights can explain the hearing loss, but the cholesterol really shocked me. It was the first time I'd ever had my cholesterol read, and my LDL was 240. I work out 6 days a week, don't drink, don't smoke, my BP is fine, my resting heart rate is 50, but the cholesterol thing is irritating and humbling. I guess I'm not immortal after all. I'm working on dropping about 25 pounds, but after that I will be very lean and won't really have any weight to lose. If it still hasn't dropped by then I'll go on meds. 🙁

I'm 21 and I feel old 🙁 this does not bode well.

EDIT: it just hit me I've been reading AT Forums since I was 14 D: seven years on this accursed forum... that's a third of my lifetime...

It's when you're sitting around with some friends and someone says their back is starting to give them problems. Then somebody else starts complaining about their knee. Then somebody mentions all the medications that they're taking. Pretty soon you just want to scream 'cause you feel like you're a bunch of geezers at a nursing home.

It's when you finally start dating again ten years after the divorce and your date announces cheerfully that he's taken his viagra.
