Is there a web site other then zonedits that explains in plain english how to do the dns?

I know I have to use a port other then port 80 to run a web page on my cable connection. How is the port hidden from the users

With zonedit you have to pay a fee if you want them to forward to a different port that port 80, it explains it pretty good on there website. Look in the FAQ's

I dont think it gets anymore clear than this:

My ISP blocked port 80. How can I run a web server?

Don't worry, you can still run one!

Sign up and get started with ZoneEdit.
Make your web server listen on port number like "6000" or "5000"
Check to see if your web server works in a browser by using a URL: http://3.4.5.6:6000/. Use the port number that you're listening on and the real IP address of your machine.
Add the "IP Address" for your web server in ZoneEdit: "ww2.domainname.com" points to "ip address".
Add a Web Forward entry for your domain called "www.domainname.com" that points to http://ww2.domainname:6000/
We recommend turning cloaking off in this case, letting people know thay are going to http://ww2.domainname.com:6000 is usually OK, and it allows the browser to perform better.

Thanks I have my web page forwarded to port 2003 and all works fine...it's free too!
One thing that amazed me was I did not have to wait. The changes took effect instantly!

Im having a problem again.
Now my web server doesnt recognize my web page such as http://webpage.com

I have it set up on port 2004.
So without my home server recognoizing the web page it will never work through zoneedit.
any suggestions. This problem has been intermetant. But now it wont chnage for me at all.
Please any help would be appreciated.

Post the url to your page and I will see if I can get to it.

One other thing do you have a static IP? if not you will have to use a program that updated your IP when it changes or update it manually when it changes.
