Having problems with the Mx1000

Recently I've noticed my mouse is a little jumpy in windows when I move it very slowly. It tends to jump like 2-4 pixels in the opposite direction I want it to move in. It moves, but it just jumps back once in a while. It's not a huge problem, but for the $$$ I put down for this thing, I would prefer for it to work right.

I was just curious if anyone else has ran into this problem and what they've done. I'm guessing it's most likely a problem with the mouse and I'll have to deal with logitech, but I'd prefer to not go mouseless for a while.

Oh yeah, I bought this thing the week it came out, if that matters at all.

I'm not a MX1000 owner, but apparently many others are experiencing "little" problems like yours.

All you can do is try installing latest drivers, adjust the senstivity and move the RF base nearer,btw what sort of surface are you using it on?

i would also guess its the surface its on. It seems like its having trouble reading the surface so it rejects the data as it recieves it and you mouse jumps back to its previous position

I have it on a large mousepad, no more than a foot from the reciever, and I've installed the newest drivers.

Try the ps/2 port.

Try a different surface to rule out any surface/tracking problems,also try resetting the RF frequency between base and mouse.

I have the EXACT same problem. I only bought it yesterday... I am sooooooo bummed because I have large hands and this is the MOST comfortable mouse I've ever used. I guess the wireless is just not ever going to be a good gamer mouse.

If I can't get it resolved today it's going back tomorrow and I'm ordering a Diamondback.

why dont you just exchange for a different one... you possibly could have gotten a dud

Not that easy.

The first one I bought here local at a Circuit City and got it home and someone did one of those Liberal exhanges and put their used one in the package that was broken. Went back and they were out of them. Drove an hour to another Circuit City where they reserved one... last one there too.

So basically it's going back and I'm getting a 510 or Razer Diamondback. Prob 510 since I already had one and it was awesome before it broke ... wink wink.

I got my mx1000 and it has no problems with jumping whatsso ever, althoguh the back-foward buttons dotn seem to do their job, battery kicks butt. Try gettting a mouse that is shipped in reciently as i think it might have been early production models with those problems.

Seems that the receiver bases model #C-BN34 are the culprits. For some people the problem goes away when using the PS/2 port but if you could get a newer version that will most likely fix it.

They do work back and forward keys,set it to generic in the software,or use "backspace" key for back and "alt+Right arrow" key for forward.
