Having problems with monitor

First off the system specs -

ViewSonic VP171B LCD
AMD Athlon 64 3700+ San Diego
Gigabyte GA - K8N Ultra SLI mobo
eVGA Nvidia GeForce 7800GTX
WD 80g IDE
Seagate Barracuda 250G SATA
Antec Truepower 500w PSU

Now the problem -

The past couple of days, it seems like every 5 min. or so, the monitor will flash-only for a second or so. I have the latest drivers for the vid card and monitor, so I don't think thats it. I don't think it's anything major, but I would like to figure out what it is before it gets worse. Anyone experience this before?

There isn't anything you can do unless your video card is outputting a crap signal. In which case you get a new video card.

The only thing to do is buy yourself a new monitor for when that one dies. I find that once they start to act up they could go at any moment. It could last you 5 more years, or could die in 5 minutes. Don't expect it to get better though.
