The system

ASUS Cd-S500/a (ide)
Yamaha CRW8424S (scsi)
Zip 250 internal (ide)
Diamond fusion 16meg agp
Samsung 8.4 gig hd (ide)
realtek RTL8029 nic
Tekram DC-390F/U pci scsi adapter
AWE64 sound card
Shuttle HOT-591p mobo
256mb pc-100 ram
AMD K-6II 500Mhz

The problem I am having is that when making a cd it keeps spitting them out with an error that says it is either another program accessing the drive or the power is being turned off. It worked fine for months with absolutely no problem then last week it started giving me multiple errors. I upgraded the firmware on the burner and the problem went away. Now it is just giving the one error. I have made sure everything is shut down even checked wintop to be sure. As far as I can tell it is not losing power. Any help would be greatly appreciated. The stack of coasters is now up to 9 after close to 70 with no problem at all.

EDIT--> I have also reinstalled ez-cd creator with no change.

Hello,

This may sound trivial, check if your ASPI layer is the latest version. Even if it is, re-update your ASPI layer.

Updated to the newest version of ASPI drivers and I still get the same problem.

Something I failed to mention is that it says it may be due to improper termination. The termination has not been changed at all. The only recent change I have made is updating the video card drivers not sure how that could affect it but it is a change.

Try using another program altogether, like Nero. I reinstalled EZ CD 5 times and because WINDOWS was flaky, it wouldn't work. Threw on Nero and it works fine. I could format the drive and reinstall EZ CD, and probably should, but right now, it's not worth it.

It may be just the SCSI card. See if you can get your hands on another one.
