I've read on a few posters saying they have toilet trained their cats, so i'm hoping this reaches on of them. I've been attempting to train them for about 5 weeks now, using a method that is supposed to take 3. They were fine when I raised their box to toilet height, and they use the box when a spare toilet seat is attached to it, but they insist on squeezing inside the hole, they wont balance themselves on the edges of the seat. I've tried putting sticky tape face-up across it, but at that point they refuse to use it as all and either hold their bladder/bowels until I remove it or they go on the floor (or in their food dish, oddly enough).
what am I doing wrong here and what other methods could I employ to get them to balance on the edge of the seat instead of trying to fit inside it? (which obviously is important if they are to go without a box and on a real toilet).
