Having problems on o/c system since I added Kingston network card...

I have just started cable modem service, DSL is not available, and I had to install this Kingston card. I have had nothing but trouble with my system since I put this in. Has anyone had trouble with Kingston cards in a O/C Athlon system? I am ready to throw it out my nearest window. If these are a problem, is there any other cards that are more stable? Any help would be appreciated. I have had to set everything to defaults just to boot into windows. I also have had another problem since this card was installed. It now takes like twice as long to boot into Windows. After the splash screen comes up, everything stops for like a full minute, then it continues to boot. Also, When I boot into windows and do "winipcfg" to release the Windows assigned IP address, and have it grab the right one from the cable modem, it will not release the address. I can click release or release all many times and nothing. Any ideas. I almost miss my modem....

Hey Insane...
I have a Kingston Nic. Had a USB modem first...and it took forever for boots, so got a Nic and a Wirespeed DSL modem. Still takes a while, maybe one and a half minutes for reboot...that is normal with a nic in there. Speedguide.net has good forums where u can post same question too, and u might be able to cut down a little on the boot time, but not alot. How fast is your pci bus going...I noticed jumpiness in my online game when I oced without GF using FSB. May be that if your pci bus is to fast, your nic aint liking it. With goldfinger and pci only running at 34 I have no problems...Hope this helps bud.

I've had no problems with that NIC at 148 FSB on an intel BX platform.

However I prefer the Netgear FA310TX, as it works a bit better in some systems. It's only about $26 at best buy.

slow boot probably is because you are using DHCP (dynamic ip) for your ethernet card. Most DSL modems support static ip as well. I know bellsouth.net wants you to set the ethernet to static, but that messes up the hub/simultaneous login method i use for all of my boxes (note: bellsouth says you cant do this, but you can with their speedtouch home modem). Basically you can have up to 253 nodes on a hub/switch all getting their own ip's from bellsouth dsl. shhh.
