I have a xecuter 2.6 ce chip and have soldered it onto my xbox motherboard which is either V1.2 or 1.3 i followed the instructions on the install guide but am not getting anything to come up on the screen when i test it. Also the xbox turns on anf off a few times by itself when i first start the xbox. please help

sounds like its fragging meaning that there is a bad connection...I just modded a unit with a solderless chip of the same type. I would check your solder points and make sure it has good contact. Do you have the 3 external switches attached to this unit to? If so, the 1st switch to bank 2, 2nd to enable , and 3rd to on. Boot off the Bios CD and you should be good to go. Hope that helps.

When my chip wasnt seated right and making full contact, it would reboot 2-3 times without anything coming up on screen, then frag.

Frag = Flashing red and green

go to xecuters website and it will tell you know to get the bios...you have to download it through the MIRC channels....

Check that you got the wires you're supposed to solder on the back for LPC and junk soldered correctly, I'm a n00b at soldering and I got my first X2.6CE install done on the first try.

just to make sure cause i am a noob also...you only have to solder 3 wires right?if not can someone tell me where else i have to solder...soldered the D0 point,LAN, and HDD

did all the soldering correctly everything is connected properly, and the chip i have already has a BIOS loaded onto it...do i still need a boot cd?

If it already has a BIOS, then no, double check the soldering 😉

are any lights turning on on the actual mod chip? if none of them are on, that means it isnt getting power, which might be because you didnt solder the LPC header. if you are too n00b to know what you are doing, you probably shouldnt have tried to do this yourself. ive modded 50-60 xboxs with the xecuter chips so i am fully aware of how hard it is to solder the d0. good luck and hopefully you didnt fry it.

yes there are lights turning on...but then it turns off and on 3 times before it stays on then no BIOS screen appears, the person soldering isnt a noob at this but i am this is the problem we are having
