What's stupid is that Intel ATX12V2.0 specs state that you can't manufacture a dual 12V rail power supply that supplies 20A or more per rail if you want to be Intel approved.
True ATX12V2.0 motherboards supposedly have built in overload protection that will actually shut down if they sense more than a 20A capable load on either of the 12V rails.
So if a 6800 video card can pull as much as 7A off of the 12V rail... EACH, and a Prescott Extreme Edition pulls 7A off of the 12V rail... how the hell do you get a dual rail power supply that is Intel ATX12V2.0 AND capable of running SLI?
Or is Intel just completely opposed to the idea of SLI?
