This thread, go down to the bottom and then back up about five posts. This would give you scans with two different current-generation antivirus softwares that are good against Trojans and Downloaders (frequently used by spyware), plus three different anti-spyware apps.
Disable System Restore on all volumes. Do ALL scans in Safe Mode except for Microsoft AntiSpyware, which only works in normal mode. In Safe Mode, open Task Manager and kill every process, or try to, except for Explorer.exe. If you run a HijackThis scan and run it through
this page, and it flags stuff as suspicious, track it down and delete it by hand if you have to.
I went through this whole routine with my little sister's comp the other day. She has about 60GB of data and it took about six hours of non-stop work to do all the scans, so make sure you have some snacks

It would definitely have been faster to reinstall Windows from scratch.
