Question Having Network splitter probems

I am trying to run new cables in the apt basement and I wanted to pop a couple of wholes in the floor and get rid of the wiring on my ceiling I have 1st wire working good and when I started my doing my second connection I used a 1 to 2 splitter and I just I bought a what I thought was 1 to 3 splitter so I just found out after finally doing the research that the spitters were actually 2 and 3 to 1 splitters to make it easy for installers with the cable run to pull 1 wire.

2 quest any way to get a different splitter that will work. any way to fix the problem without using patch panels or switches and would that even work as dont I need to have my switches after my router

What exactly you used?

Network cables can not be "Split", a Switch has to be used for such purpose.

can I use a switch in the basement to split the cable from FIOS cable to my 3 connections?
I dont think I can use the switch before my router which is upstairs would be connected

Are this 3 connections independent from the Router?

If they are, you can use a switch before the Router.

I have 8 connection on my router I have a

I get back later I just want to show you what I using for the install

right now I had to disconnect the 2nd cable that when to my bedroom to make what I have work.

I had wiring on my walls and ceiling that I removed that was my old setup and going 2 my router and 2 switches I thought that I could use the splitter as a 2 to 1 and now there no other ways to get that to work other a using a switch correct?

One of the photos in then "splitter" link says it's one of at a time, it's not a PoE switch

Follow mxnerds diagram and use switches to add ports as needed

Just throw away those useless splitters. You either directly connect the devices to the LAN ports on the router, or use switch to extend the cable/range, and connect your device to the switch.

I sending back the 3 splitters to amazon and getting 2 8 port switches and I can and try to run the cable on my baseboard of ceiling if needed I have a new rg 6 cable to run as well.
