I just got a broken printer replaced with a new one from best buy. I'm going from an expson 5200 to a 6600(i believe it's a cx model). The printer is wonderful and all but I am having troubles booting with it on. When I first turn on my computer and it is conneted, the post screen comes up and checks all the devices, ide, etc... I'm sure you know what i'm talking about. Well, when it gets to the USB devices it kinda sits there for awhile(30 seconds sometimes...which is a long time compared to the usual 20 second total boot up).

The printer features a multiple card reader and i am thinking that may be the problem. It detects a mass storage device when booting and takes some time to figure it out. I don't know whether it's loading drivers for it everytime it starts or what. But it is really becomming a problem. As of right now what I am doing is turning the printer off when i am not using it, and it boots fine that way. And if i need to print i just turn it on and it's all good to go. The last issue i am having is with the scanner on the printer. It is automatically scanning about every 5 minutes as if a button is stuck or something. "Scan to E-mail Button" keeps comming up and I got rid of the problem only but deleting the scanner in the scanner properties.

This last issue isn't too much of a problem with me but ever since i've gotten the printer i've had major boot up problems (on the windows boot screen it also has been locking hard often. taking 5-8 reboots to get through to the login screen). I am hoping it's not something else. But i thought i'd ask and see what you guys thought...

I apologize for the long post and thanks in advance.
