I'm having a serious dilemna here
My athlon tbird system won't work with this setup:

Athlon Tbird 850
Crucial 256mb pc2100 ram
MSI k7tpro266

it will NOT post
it will go to:
Athlon CPU 850mhz (or something like that)
Testing NVRAM....(or something like that)

and then stop!
on the dled system it's (red.green.green.red) which means cpu initialization
it won't go any farther than that ie i can't even go to the bios!
now, the funny thing is, if i leave my computer off for 3-6 hours, i can boot it up, it will run for oh let's say 10 minutes, then it'll have this issue again.

NOW
when i swap that MSI board with the iwill ka266, it works fine!
not a single problem

anybody have any ideas? i don't really wanna have to resell my msi at a loss (i'm "borrowing" the iwill) Thanks! =)

they removed the 100/133 jumper for the ka266
you get the full 100-150 or whatever in the bios
checked and rechecked and checked AGAIN all the jumpers
the only one that i can actually mess with is the cmos reset jumper (which i've used alot lol) and the onboard audio jumper ^_^

and like i said, i got it to boot, and it works for a few minutes....until i reboot =(

Humm, you have the K7T266, not the KA266. The board is basically jumperless though. Sounds like you got a bad board. I have personally used it so I know your frustrations.

TRY RESEATING ALL CARDS AND CABLES INCLUDING THE CPU, CLEAR CMOS, SET UP THE BIOS PROPERLY AND REINSTALL THE OPERATING SYSTEM. SORRY ABOUT CAPS DID NOT REALIZE THEY WERE ON. TAKE CARE...

Any chance of a power supply problem? Considering if he lets it sit it will then work for a short time and go dead?

Maybe I am totally wrong, just throwing in ideas.
