You may or may not remember that I posted a thread back in December that I was diagnosed with a hernia. Well, the day has come. I am having it repaired tomorrow morning at 7:30 am. This is my first stay in a hospital. Wish me luck!!🙂

<< Full anesthesia? >>

I went under when I got my wisdom teeth removed. I hated the side effects. 🙁

Full anesthesia?

Well, he gave me the choice of gas or some la la in my IV. I chose the la la , which is in the same family as demeral, just not as long lasting.

You'll be fine. Hernia is one of those things they do a billion times a year, and there are very few surgeries more honed or safer.

...you do have a will don't you?😀

I'm sure everything will come out all right....😎

I have to keep reminding myself that I can't eat or dring after midnight. Boy am I gonna be thirsty in the morning.

Take it from me after 3 surgeries in the last 5 months, you will not be very thristy....survival will occupy all your thoughts....😉

I had the hernia surgery just last year. No problems, except in the beginning of the surgery. The psychian wanted to numb my lower back so they put this huge needle in my spinal cord! It didn't take though, so they just put me to sleep. The psychian told me though that when she went to touch me I flinched!!! :Q So she just overdosed me some more. Hurt like a bitch afterwords though!

🙂

Yeah, I fondly remember my hernia surgery when I was in 5th grade. Everything went pink when they put me under, plus voices started to echo, then pop, I woke up in recovery with a hurting lower stomach. It wasn't too bad, except I hated that I wasn't allowed to do any exercise for running for a month or two.

Turn your head and cough

That is how they can check for some types of hernias.

Looks like you missed out on the fondling (I only go to woman doctors)

Good luck tomorrow. Herniorraphy is a relatively simple procedure.

And BTW its "general" or "local" anaesthesia, in this case it'll be a general. No such thing as a "full" anaesthetic. lol
