I am trying to install a creative labs CT6700 16mb(pci) into my computer. Whenever I put the card in, I am getting these bizarre multicolored lines across the screen. I then try to install the drivers (despite having a hard time seeing through the lines) And once I reboot with the drivers installed and get into windows, the screen turns black with little white lines going across and I can't see or do anything about it. I had to put my old S3 virge card back in so I can go on here. I've tried 3 different drivers...still nothing different. I even tried removing my soundblaster card believing that there may be conflicts, but it still does the same thing. Any ideas would be appreciated, thanks!

You need to be more specific with what type of computer you have. I believe your system is an older pentium/amd setup because those cards are rather dated. What version of Windows are you running? What chipset does the that Creative Labs card (CT6700) use?

Do you get these colors even before you get into Win98SE? My suggestion would be to try this video card on another machine and see whether you get the same results or not.. If you do, it quite possible that it's defective..

Yeah,

The colors are yellow lines over the screen before I get to windows, then when I get in windows, I see nothing but the lines. Very bizarre.

I agree with DN, try that card in another machine. If you get the same problem, it's probably defective. I had a hairline crack in an old motherboard once and it caused all kinds of weird problems in Windows. Good luck.
