I would think of alcohol too, if not for the part that OP mentioned they are responsible couple. I agree with TV that probably they are feeling insecure in their relationship in this young age, so they thought getting engaged and pregnant will bring a sense of security.

How doesn't it apply? What if they were under the influence and had a child? What would they tell everyone? They had a child they're going to keep while drunk, or that they decided to have one?

Hey, I wish the best for the two in thier Pregnancy and in life, But they IMO are still to young. They have a lot to learn and having babies is not all fun and games. Rewarding, yes, But hard work that they have no idea of yet.
