Having a dog while at work

It would be cruel for you to get a dog in your situation. Wait until you either can spend less time away from home, or have another person at home to wants to participate with the dog.

If you absolutely insist on a dog, get an adult rescue dog and put them in doggie day care or hire a walker to come during the day. I still think the dog is going to drive you nuts unless the room mate wants to pitch in.
