Have your parents ever tried any drugs?

Yep, both my 'rents smoked pot. My mom recreationally during college, my dad just a few times. Mom tried acid during college, didn't care much for it.

Mom no, but smoked cigs until she was preg with me and then quit.
Dad yes, but told me it was one of the dumbest things he ever did in his life and hasn't told any of my sibs. My dad apparently did a lot of dumbass stuff in HS.

More interesting answer is my uncle. He owned the 2AM club in San Francisco during peak years (see Huey Lewis and the News gold album where the album cover is a photo from the club.) He lived the drinking/drug culture to the hilt up until the day he joined AA and sold the club. It was his one financial success in life and he's bounced from career to career ever since, but he's alive and healthy now and appreciates his life. Twenty some years clean and sober.

btw, the poll and the question in the OP are not consistent with each other.

question in OP says drugs..... poll says weed.

juuuuuuuuust sayin :music:

When I was a teenager my dad swore up and down that he never did any drugs. Then as soon as I moved out of the house he started smoking weed openly.

My parents grew up in the Depression era and my father was a WWII vet and I'm pretty sure the strongest non-prescription drug they ever used is codeine back when it was sold in OTC cough syrup.

My Dad smoked pot until he started having kids. That includes his six years in the Air Force. My Mom's brothers were all pot heads, and she said she was the light weight, but smoked it quite a bit.

Yes, both parents. I recall hearing a story of them sharing a joint on the way to the hospital to give birth to me. Apparently the nurse couldn't believe how relaxed my mother was.

My dad has dabbled here and there, but he likes drinking the most. My mom has never really tried or did anything, she is pretty conservative when it comes to that kind of thing.

mom, no. she doesn't even touch alcohol, so i have no reason to doubt her.

dad, yes. my mom told me he used to.

My biological dad...I don't think so. He died in the Korean war...before drugs became popular.
My step-dad...FUCK NO! He was a hater of such things and the people who did drugs.
My mom...only a couple of times when she was on chemotherapy drugs to improve her appetite.
(her doctor recommended-but not prescribed-that we find some for her. When she died, we threw the rest away...)

She still thinks people who've had just one joint are bad people.
sounds like my wife 🙁

And mine too. As for my parents ... my Mom, no ... but she should have while my brother was terminally ill. My Dad, maybe in university, but I doubt it, he's never copped to it anyway.

My late brother though ... oh yeah, he smoked fairly regularly, but nothing else.

I would be very surprised if my parents ever did anything like that.

i thought the same about my mom for a long time. she seems like the model "just say no" mom, up until i found a pic of her in college hugging a pot plant. my dad has made a living of setting up stages for concerts for the last 35 or so years, no brainer there.
